The Chellington Centre has been designed and fully equipped with modern facilities to ensure a successful residential stay. It can sleep up to 30 people and has a large multi-use main hall and separate breakout rooms, Chellington offers flexibility for many types of activity.

ACCOMMODATION

Main Church Area

Main Hall

Occupying the original knave, the high ceilinged and brightly lit main hall is a flexible space for many types of activities.

• Spacious area for whole group team games and activities
• Can be set up theatre style for up to 80 people
• Tables and chairs can be configured for dining or desk based activities
• Wireless internet access

Winnie Hall Room

Separated from the main hall by glass doors, the original altar area offers a separate breakout room Up to 20 people can use this smaller room yet still be near the main hall activities.

Bedrooms

In the aisles are 6 small dormitory bedrooms, each with 4 or 5 bunk beds which fold down from the wall; a separate leader bedroom is in the centre's extension. Up to 35 can sleep in these rooms with careful planning, or 30 with ease. Whilst fun and cosy to sleep in, the stowaway beds also give easy access to those in wheelchairs. Sleeping bags are available for hire.

Kitchen

Our self-catering kitchen is a great place to learn the art of self-sufficiency! This fully modernised facility has large range cooker, fridge, microwave and freezer, as well as a hot cupboard. All crockery, cutlery and utensils also available. A counter between the kitchen and main hall allows for easy serving.

Although Chellington is primarily a self-catering facility, we have excellent relationships with local caterers and can provide their details on request.

Extended Area

Ibbett Room

The Ibbett room brings the countryside into the centre with its semi circular wall of windows giving a panoramic view over the Ouse Valley. Another ideal space for breakout activities

Toilets and Showers

Separate girls and boys showers, and a unisex accessible toilet and shower.

Sparrowhawk Bedroom

Separate bedroom away from the crowd. Ideal for teachers and leaders!

Garden

The garden is an inspiring space with immense views and countryside all around. There is space to pitch 4 tents, a large garden barbecue and camp fire circle.

Parking

There is parking for 20 cars, with additional parking space available by arrangement. The car park allows enough space for a coach to turn with care.

Games

We're sure you'll have lots to do at The Chellington Centre, but for those indoor moments between activities we have a large store of indoor and outdoor games. Activity Based Learning Equipment

Based around the concept of engagement through enjoyable, accessible and relevant developmental activities and the building of mutual respect and trust, this equipment provides leadership development and team-building exercises for groups of all types and abilities. Unlike most sports, this is not dependant on physical fitness or skill levels, only enthusiasm.

Within a supportive environment where secure opportunities are provided and participants are encouraged to make decisions for themselves, the activities build:

Presentation Facilities

For more serious activities and learning we have a full range of presentation equipment including projector and screen, DVD players, speakers, OHP, flip charts, whiteboard and digital camera. There is a small charge for use of these facilities.

Cleaning

Residential Groups visiting The Chellington Centre are expected to leave the centre clean and in good order. But if you'd like to leave the work to us, you can purchase the cleaning package for just £35 – if ordered before your stay. We've put together some guidelines here.
